“Season 4 - Part 1, Music To Honor Our Nation’s Founding”

"The Mysterious Widow of Mount Holly" Episode 1

Season 4 opened with an episode dedicated to an individual that prior to 1979 was unknown to history.  With the publication of Johann Ewald's diary, her story became known.  This music is dedicated to the "Mysterious Widow of Mount Holly".

"Providence" Episode 2

During the American Revolution there were many things that happened that just could not be explained.  Some of these were bullet holes in George Washington's coat that never touched him personally.  Was God's hand in these events?  We explore that question in this episode and this song is dedicated to Season 4, Episode 2.

"Chester" Episode 3

In Season 4, Episode 3 we explore one of the famous songs from the era of the American Revolution which few people know today.  That song is titled "Chester" and you can hear it played in that episode.  This song is not "Chester", but is dedicated to that song and that episode.

"West Florida" Episodes 4, 6, & 8

As part of our 250th celebration, we dove into West Florida, sometimes referred to as "The 14th Colony".  The history of this area is vast and had a significant impact on the American Revolution, but is almost never discussed or taught.  Our hope is that this series of episodes brought a brighter light to this area and the critical role that it played.

"The Provision State" Episode 5

Season 4 Episode 5 dives into Connecticut and the critical role that it played in the American Revolution.  Known as "The Provision State", Connecticut played a critical role in supplying the American efforts during the Revolution.  This song is dedicated to Connecticut, "The Provision State".

"The Benjamin Franklin House" Episode 7

In Season 4, Episode 7 we travel "across the pond" to London where we visit with Dr. Megan King at The Benjamin Franklin House.  This is the only remaining original structure where Benjamin Franklin lived and is a very interesting place.  The history associated with this building is significant and this song is dedicated to that location and Dr. Franklin.

"The Noble Train of Artillery" Episode 10

Season 4 Episode 10 focused on the 250th Anniversary of the Noble Train of Artillery.  Featuring the Curator from Fort Ticonderoga and our good friend Dr. Matt Keagle, this episode dove further into the famous event of transporting the cannons from Fort Ticonderoga all the way to Dorchester Heights just outside of Boston.  This song commemorates that event.

"Lake Champlain and the Battle of Valcour Island" Episode 11

In Season 4, Episode 11 we focus on the Battle of Valcour Island as we visit the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum.  Dr. Chris Sabick, the Executive Director of the museum, spends time with us as we explore the challenges experienced during the American Revolution in and around Lake Champlain.

"The Great Chain - West Points Iron Wall of Libertty" Episode 12

The American forces encountered incredible challenges in defeating the largest and most experienced military in the world during the American Revolution.  Those challenges required "out of the box" thinking and often unique creations.  In Season 4, Episode 12 we explore the Great Chain that prevented the British from taking control of the Hudson River.  This music is dedicated to "The Great Chain" and the men who placed it into the river.
